The Long and Winding Road

The first ever conference on Bob Pirsig’s Metaphysics of Quality was held yesterday 7th July 2005 at Liverpool University Philosophy Department, organised by Dr Anthony McWatt.

A fuller report will follow here, and on the MoQ.org website in due course.

Excellent event with some really high quality presentations, and face-to-face meetings of minds.
Well done to Ant for pulling it off, all the headaches were worth it.

  1. Interesting day to have held the conference.

I read Sam Norton’s essay on Moq.org. He is a good writer who is quite accessable. It was a nice overview. I even recognized some of the names!!

  2. Bloody right, as they say, Ian! I guess i had no trouble finding your blog. Nice to know where to go to hear the ramblings of a wise’ol scientist.

  3. Nice to get a couple of comments – I’m busy at a conference in Shanghai at the moment, so haven’t managed much posting that last couple of days.

Main problem in China is the blocking of BBC material … Grrrr.

I have quite a few good photos of the MoQ conference, Brent.

Should be back to blogging by tomorrow.

Alice, the Rev Sam is one of those theists I can have a reasonable conversation with, despite the fact he cannot be shifted from a “causal” god.
